Sermon and Teaching Notes

Pastor Daryl Hannah

Philippians 3:10-14

  1. We should RECOGNIZE the value of time
  2. We should RECONSIDER our past
  3. We should RECONSTRUCT our priorities

In the average lifespan of 75 years, the average person spends….

  • 3 years acquiring an education
  • 7 years eating
  • 14 years working
  • 5 years riding in a car or airplane
  • 5 years talking
  • 1 year in sickness or recovery
  • 3 years reading newspapers, magazines, etc.
  • 12 years amusing ourselves

1 service per week at church, on the other hand, comes out to only 5.4 months in 75 years.  4 services per week would be 21.6 months.

Time is like a valuable commodity in a delicate vessel.
