Thanksgiving Day – Psalm 100

Devotionals

The blessings of God are so numerous that we often take them for granted, don’t we?  We have homes, we have food, we have cars, we have our families, and on and on we could go.  God is not stingy, even to those that are not thankful at all.  There’s rain, there’s sunshine, there’s air, and there’s life itself.

In Psalm 100, it’s clear that we should be thankful.  A thankful heart is one that recognizes the gifts of God for what they are – gifts from the heavenly Father who loves us.  The thankful heart will be drawn to the giver of those gifts, and can more fully enjoy a relationship with Him.

On this Thanksgiving Day, take time to thank God.  Take time to pray.  Take time to BE with the one you are thankful to.  In doing so, you’ll find even more to be thankful for.

Psalm 100
“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
