Sermon and Teaching Notes

(Sermon Series) – “Principles of a Prosperous People” (Part II)

Have you ever found yourself stuck in the mud spiritually because of your situations? Today’s message looks at three key areas to examine in our life and offers us practical solutions that will help us move forward in our walk with Christ.

“Advancing Through Adversities” (Philippians 1:12-18)

  1. (12-13) “Moving Forward Requires Commitment”
  2. (14) “Moving Forward Requires Confidence”
  3. (15-18) “Moving Forward Requires Christ”

Some notes…

  • There are times we’ve all allowed our adversities to be bigger than our God!
  • The glory in front of us is far greater than any adversity we’ve ever faced!
  • Advancing = to go beyond the place that your are now to some place you’ve never been before.
  • “Every blade of grass counts!” = EVERY SOUL COUNTS!
  • The most important thing to ALL of us is the message of the Gospel.
  • The world is plagued with a lack of commitment, and the church is NOT immune.
  • We are BONDED to Christ – the commitment is eternal.
  • Our confidence MUST be in God – nothing to do with us.
  • We have no reason to ever doubt God.
  • If we lack confidence, we need more of the Word of God.
  • If you’re faithful to God, He will honor it 100% of the time.
  • We’re no more than a social gathering if we don’t have Christ.
  • Many people only serve God in an effort to work their way to Heaven.
  • The greatest adversity anyone could ever have is to face dying without Christ.
