Sermon and Teaching NotesSermon Series – “Profound Truth in Jesus’ Parables” (Part 6)
“The Love of a Shepherd”
Luke 15:1-7
I. (1-3) “Is a Welcoming Love”
II. (4-5) “Is a Searching Love”
III. (6-7) “Is a Genuine Love”
Truth is a vital part of our existence whether one believes that or not. Truth does not require ones “belief” to make it valid. This is one fact that Jesus conveyed so well through His teachings of parables. To those who embraced their truth, much was gained. To those who rejected them, everything was lost! Parables are messages of deep importance to our understanding of our Maker and Savior. They are simple stories with profound meaning about God, His Kingdom, and His relationship with us.
It is common thinking to many people as well as to Christians, that God is upset with them because of their failures. Therefore, many assume that He would rather them to stay away. However! This is as far from the “truth” as the east is from the west! Truth is, God has been, is, and will continue to actively pursue you in a desire of a relationship with you. Today we will examine the active pursuit of God’s love for those who have wandered off in “The Love of a Shepherd”!
