(Sermon Series) – “The Promotion of the Gospel Examined” (Part 3)

“Remaining Loyal to the Lord”

II Timothy 1: 13-14

I. (13a) “Devotion to His Word”

II. (13b) “Devotion to His Work”

III. (14) “Devotion to His Will”

At some point, each Christian should realize and appreciate the gravity of how important it is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, in our fallen sinful state that we are currently in right now, we do not have to look very far to see the impact of our fallen natures upon things that we once consider perfect and whole and were totally devoted to in heart and mind. Things that we once upon a time cherished and perhaps even at one time committed ourselves to for life, yet now have had a “change of mind” about. A change of mind due in part to the fact that our faith in Christ is not that important to us anymore.

Today we are going to consider what Scripture tells us concerning the importance of our unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ, His Message, and His Kingdom.

(Sermon Series) – “The Promotion of the Gospel Examined” (Part 2)

II Timothy 1: 8-12

I. (8-9) “Serving Christ with Giving”

II. (10-11) “Serving Christ with Gift’s”

III. (12) “Serving Christ with Grit”

At some point, each Christian should realize and appreciate the gravity of how important it is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today we are going to consider that since the birth of the New Testament Church in Acts chapter two, God has been calling upon people with a “Genuine Faith” in Him to serve Him in many different ways. Folks that is still happening today as well!

Yet so often as we humans are so skilled in doing, we make excuses as to why everyone should serve Him except for me. The promotion of the Gospel in a world that does not welcome it very easily requires us to understand a few things. Today we are going to look at three basic elements that effectively and consistently promote the greatest message ever!

What comes to your mind when you think about one the appointed times that we meet at church? What are your reasons for going to church? The message today addresses some of these questions. In addition, it should also help us to re-consider the great importance of why we are here today. In light of God’s main purpose for the church and its existence.

There are certain fundamental facts that accompany the idea of freedom. The idea of “freedom” is what gave birth to this country 234 years ago today. Yet today in our nation as a whole, we either have forgotten these facts or have altogether abandoned them.

Therefore, we as a nation of people, if we do not return to these God given principles, freedom as we know it and have come to enjoy so much, may become extinct!

II. (20-24)“Is a Unconditional Love”

III. (25-32) “Is a Unmerited Love”

As we continue a look into Luke 15 and the Lord’s parables of three “lost” things, and as we continue our series “Profound Truth in Jesus’ Parables. We finish chapter fifteen today with one of the most familiar and beloved of all Christ’s Parables, the Parable of the Prodigal Son. I find it as no accident that the Holy Spirit would lead us to this special parable on this special day that we celebrate Dad’s!

Nevertheless, we as Dad’s can and should learn some valuable truth’s from this passage today. As we continue to examine God’s “remedy” or “solution” for each of our “lost-ness”. Namely, His Love or also known as His Grace! Let us now continue to examine that love in a study of “The Love of a Father”.

Sermon Series – “Profound Truth in Jesus’ Parables” (Part 6)

“The Love of a Shepherd”

Luke 15:1-7

I. (1-3) “Is a Welcoming Love”

II. (4-5) “Is a Searching Love”

III. (6-7) “Is a Genuine Love”

Truth is a vital part of our existence whether one believes that or not. Truth does not require ones “belief” to make it valid. This is one fact that Jesus conveyed so well through His teachings of parables. To those who embraced their truth, much was gained. To those who rejected them, everything was lost! Parables are messages of deep importance to our understanding of our Maker and Savior. They are simple stories with profound meaning about God, His Kingdom, and His relationship with us.

It is common thinking to many people as well as to Christians, that God is upset with them because of their failures. Therefore, many assume that He would rather them to stay away. However! This is as far from the “truth” as the east is from the west! Truth is, God has been, is, and will continue to actively pursue you in a desire of a relationship with you. Today we will examine the active pursuit of God’s love for those who have wandered off in “The Love of a Shepherd”!
